NEW SCOTTISH TITLES IN OUR LIBRARY OF BIRD AND COUNTRYSIDE AUDIO BOOKS FROM GLORIOUS GALLOWAY

Scotland

To celebrate 12 years in Galloway, since our move back north to my roots after 21 years working from our Oxfordshire studio, Sounds Natural is happy to announce additional Scottish publications for our library of unique audio bird and countryside books on CD.

Listening to these CDs you are taken out in the countryside, into an extensive range of habitats, to learn from experts about a big variety of birds’ songs and calls, and share in other wildlife sounds and situations. These have developed from my years of working freelance for BBC Radio, especially BBC World Service, and they join the existing range of 29 Sounds Natural’s CD productions, which are recorded, or part-recorded in Scotland. These include 12 which feature wildlife and natural sounds on their own with no identifying commentary or ‘unnatural’ music - “Spring Garden Birds”, “Summer Garden Birds”, “Woodland Sounds”, “Dawn Birdsong”, “Upland Sounds”, “The Sound of the Sea”, “The Sound of the Sea with Shore Birds”, “The Sound of Muck – the island”, “Sea and Shore Birds Only”, “Wild Goose and Swan Talk”, “Wind in Aspen Leaves” and “Wildfowl Talking” -
10 birdsong identification productions and 7 general countryside titles.
With the long-awaited publication of “Confusing Pairs of Birdsong” as a major part of the new library, we now have a trilogy of bird identification CDs with long bands of each of 50 species covered and a minimum of identifying commentary – “Beginning Birdsong” and “Continuing Birdsong” are already available – as well as the new range of full length audio bird books.

The audio bird book CD library contains seven other Scottish titles at the present - “A Night Out with the Birds – on the Ythan estuary”, “Ayrshire Woodland Birds”, “Ayrshire Shore Birds”, “Ayrshire and Galloway Upland Forest Birds”, “A Wild Goose Chase in Galloway”, “Ayrshire & Galloway Moorland Birds”, “The Galloway Kite Trail – an audioguide", "Ayrshire & Galloway Bird Table Talk" There are more being prepared and due to be published in the near future.
There are some non-bird titles among them, but all are connected with nature and the countryside. Of especial interest among these are a dramatisation on two CDs of “The Wind in the Willows”, “The Nature of Whisky”, “An Insight into Bannockburn”, “Scottish Mechanical Music” and “The Water of Life – an anthology of Whisky” - all already published, with more heritage titles planned.
