Local Wedding Planners Are Pretty Pleased With Their Business Success

United Kingdom

A Surrey wedding and event planning start-up business is bucking the economic trend and thriving thanks to the entrepreneurial skills of the two founders.

Holly Poulter and Colleen Yates from Surrey launched Pretty Please Event Planning officially in Autumn 2012 but it has been running for 4 years under the name of Nearlyweds.

Holly met Colleen while helping her with her own wedding, and the two of them joined together to re-brand and re-launch to become Pretty Please Event Planning.

Whether an event is for 2 or 200, in a barn or in a ballroom, Holly and Colleen will be out whatever the weather working with local couples to bring their dream wedding to life.

By working for affordable flat-rate hourly fees Holly and Colleen have bridged the gap between luxury and DIY, so even the most budget-conscious of their clients have access to a first-class planning and design service, bringing affordability back to the industry and to their clients.

Holly and Colleen are now taking their business to the next level by trying out different marketing tactics to see what works for them, and introducing wedding planning vouchers to make it easier for couples to use their services.

Holly Poulter said: “I planned to take over the world using clipboards and spreadsheets and it was during a clipboard-world-takeover-tour that my dream job would be to plan weddings and events.  One of the factors in our success is networking locally and interacting on online communities such as iHubbub.com, and I love being able to read wedding magazines and passing them off as work.

Paula Wynne, bestselling author and co-founder of iHubbub.com said: “Holly and Colleen have been through many challenges, including for Holly learning how to work with someone else after years of working on her own. It’s really lovely to have these two ladies, who are very passionate with what they do, joining our home business community. We’re hoping they’ll spread lots of romance through the site!”
