Of Mice And Men
iHubbub has gone mouse-hunting ... to show our members the different PC mice, from Bluetooth to the performance mice that ‘wrap’ around your hands to alleviate hand stress for those home business owners who are glued to their PC.
We were especially keen on unusual mice and the top performance mice that will help home workers and home business owners who are glued to their ‘mice’.
Rather than the little mousers we are into showcasing the best of ‘Man-Sized-Mice’!
There are several things to look for when purchasing a mouse. There are a few different kinds of mice available today, wired, wireless, Bluetooth, gaming, and multifunctional.
The variety of mice come equipped with many different features that make using a computer extremely easy.
There are two main types of mouse connections, wired and wireless. The USB is the most common connection for today’s wireless computer mouse; however, mice can also be connected via Bluetooth.
Choose Your Computer Mouse
Here is a list of the best mice we could ... err ... hunt down! PS: No mice or animals (or men) were harmed when writing up this feature!
As I write this, my hand is constantly switching and swapping between the Logitech Performance Mouse and Microsoft's Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse.
One has a better thumb position to allow a snug thumb fitting and little more length into the back of the palm. The other has height, which may not say much straight off, but after placing your long-suffering hand on it all day, you'll see that height plays a BIG role in mouse management.
Which mouse will win the race?
Logitech Performance Mouse
Logitech Performance Mouse allows you to work virtually anywhere—even on glass. The Darkfield Laser Sensor (a Logitech exclusive) tracks flawlessly where optical and standard laser mice fail.
With Hyper-fast scrolling and four programmable thumb buttons you’ll get more done much quicker than before.
All you do is pop the tiny Logitech Unifying receiver in your notebook and leave it there. You can even add more devices. Plug it. Forget it. Add to it. So you get one USB connector for multiple devices.
If you're a Mac user, you'll be pleased to learn that you can do more than point, click and scroll. You can use your mouse to launch Mission Control, switch between apps and much more.
iHubbub loves this mouse because the thumb space fits better than a glove!
On using the Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse, shown below, we realised Logitech has a small flaw in this mouse. Height! For total, and I mean TOTAL COMFORT, you'd need to fit a tiny pocket of air space just above the back of the mouse. About the exact spot where the Logitech logo sits.
SO why don't Microsoft and Logitech's tech designers team up to build the perfect, ultimate mouse for someone who uses a computer mouse all day, every day, 365 days of the year. Okay, maybe 360 days of the year.
What they'd need to do is this - iHubbub's recipe for a perfect successful mouse:
1. Use Logitech's perfect thumb slot with rubbery softness
2. Add height and robustness with the mouse rounded off to the side exactly like the Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse
3. Possibly shape a little extra length into it, similar to the Microsoft Scult Comfort's length (shown below).
This mouse we have designed above will most certainly be suitable and comfortable to grace every home business owner's desk. In fact, it would be a bestselling mouse for anyone who works at their computer for hours on end without cramping the hand.
We'd be more than happy to give it a test run!

The Sensei Wireless Mouse
The Sensei Wireless is ambidextrous with rubberised accents for added grip and 4 zones of illumination: on the scroll wheel, SteelSeries logo, on the base station and pinhole on the mouse for battery and connection status.
The wireless functionality has a 1-millisecond response time, which means no detectable lag. On a full battery charge, the Sensei Wireless averages 16 hours of non-stop wireless gaming, and up to 20 hours for common gaming treatment.
When iHubbub's team tested this mouse we liked the idea of a base station, which is its dock for charging, wireless transmitter and receiver as well as indicator for battery life.
That said, after a while it can be cumbersome having to remember to place it back on the base when you dart away. Forgetting may result in a dead mouse on your desk the next day. You may prefer to USB it into your PC creating a wired mouse.

Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse
The advanced design of Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse maximizes wrist comfort while making navigation effortless.
This mouse is built for endurance and comfort. Slightly higher off the desk than most other computer mice, it allows the hand to flop with ease over the mouse. In particular it enables your thumb to sit in a more natural way than MOST other mice!
Only little snag is that it is slightly short in length coming right back into the deep innermost part of your palm up against your thumb. The Sculpt Comfort Mouse, shown below, has this length, not the height.
iHubbub gives the Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse top points for comfort.
In saying that, if we were advising the mighty Microsoft on how to make the best computer mouse for a home worker who toils away endlessly at the PC, we'd suggest combining Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse's height with the Scult Comfort's length. Then we'd have a pretty tough-talking, mighty mouse on our hands!

Sculpt Comfort Mouse
The ease and speed of the Windows touch tab means you can get things done with precision and effortless control.
Another great mouse for fitting around the hand. This one has the length to go into the back of the palm.
So if Microsoft could make a mouse with the Scult Comfort's length and the height of the Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse they would have a winner!

We like the bright colours that will light up any home office, at least you'll find this mouse easily under all that start-up business clutter. Our favourite is RED, beats the boring black and grey mice anyday.

This computer mouse looks just the part on any home office working desk. It's style looks high-tech with it's flashy silver scroll and trims.
It would probably be ideal for the petitie home business owner, but as it is also quick low on the desk so just check the height if you have big hands.
