How To Create A Branding Brief

Create a briefing document to determine how the company brand should be used. Large corporate companies spend a vast fortune on their brand documentation and, for obvious reasons, only give certain people the right to manage it.

I advise you do the same, but on a smaller scale. Draw up a simple Word document starting with your logo at the top, company name and brand objectives.

Take this a step further and decide on important criteria such as:

  • Header font and size (H1)
  • Sub header font and size (H2 – H5)
  • Body font and size
  • Colour Schemes
  • Complimentary colours
  • Fonts and their sizes
  • Logo placement guidelines

You should consider using only one font or at the most only one or two similar fonts throughout your website, with different sizes for headers, sub headers and body text. Verdana size 10 – 12 is a safe bet,
