Have Bag To Travel

Let’s face it, women all over the world juggle their love-hate war with handbags on a daily basis.

Some are too big and everything that goes in seems to get lost and some items never see the light of day again. Others are way too irritatingly small and bulge out sideways like you have the kitchen sink inside.

And what about those tiny clutch bags some ladies use, can they really fit all the necessary working-on-the-go kit inside? I think not.

Then we have those embarrassing stories when you plonk your bag on a shop counter [with a long queue behind you] and you either ...

a) Can’t find your purse, rummage, rummage, rummage, pressure mounting with a long queue behind you and ... phew, finally yank it out with all sorts of rubbish.

Or ...

b) Worse still, you’re looking for keys, which always seem to get buried at the bottom of the bag, and after a good nose-in-bag hunt you haul out your car keys dangling a tampon on the end - along with all sorts of not-for-public-eyeballs stuff.

So … out we went to hunt down the perfect bags for mobile working women.

Check out mobile bags and briefcases for our mobile working start up business owners

Men too, have their moments. How many times have you seen a huge heavy and cumbersome briefcase been carried into work or squashed beside you onto the train and then when the lid is popped you see all that is inside is a water bottle and an apple and a sandwhich.

Thousands of men admit that they only carry a briefcase to cart their lunch around. Is that you?

Mia Tui

First up is Mia Tui's bags which combine practicality with style and comfort - so effortlessly they really do get top marks.

Mia Tui had 2 different bags we wanted to suss out when we hit the ground running, both of them with lovely lady-like names. Let's start with Ava ... and for you blokes, keep reading to find more mucho bags.

Ava

Road Test Score
8 [red leather would probably be a 10!]
Mia Tui bags have great pockets to hold all your mobile working tools We're mad for Mia Tui.

Overview - an exceptional bag for trendy businesswomen. Has everything you need in the way of comfort and style. Carries everything you need for a busy or relaxed day on the go. Very accessible to slide hands in and out to get glasses, keys, iPad, phone and what nots.

Colours - Black, mustard, pewter, tan, red  (all with either blue or pink interior lining)
Cost – £49.99
Fabric – PU
Comfort - A fab bag - we have really fallen in love with this bag

Durability - PU is very durable for freelancers or mobile workers constantly on the go. The bag is waterproof inside, which is ideal if you have to stop off at the gym and shove a wet-ish towel inside.

Pockets - Top marks 10 out of 10 for pockets! All manner of pockets are crammed into the Mia Tui bags. Pen holders, 2 different clips for keys, a mobile phone pocket.

Wow, how cool is this  - an insulated water bottle holder. How many times have I run my legs off to get a train on time, only to sit puffin’ and pantin’ on the train with no water bottle in my bag - simply because I didn’t have this great bag with this ingenious solution to organisation. And Ava has two of these pockets - our road testers found this to be very handy for other important items such as a glasses case, sunglasses and even err, dare I say it, panty-liners!

Many a man will take one look inside this lady’s bag and his eyes will boggle at how neat and tidy the infamous bottom of a girl’s handbag will always remain with Ava!

We have purposefully made this image below HUGE so you can see ALL the SPACE in this fab bag.

Mia Tui bags have great pockets to hold all your mobile working tools

Space - Ava fits all the kit you’ll need for a business meeting and long day out. If you’re an iPad kinda girl, it slides in and out quickly, pretty much the same as a laptop. Wide enough bottom and sides to fit files and folders without bending them or giving them the scuffed look.

As with Grace, those all day meetings that often lead to business dinners or even darting out to the theatre afterwards, both Ava and Grace are perfect as they will accommodate your quick change or freshen up evening outfits. It will surely fit anything you need when you’re out working and maybe even more.

Straps - Ava does not have a detachable strap, the handles are long enough to wear comfortably under your arm even with a winter coat on, over the shoulder or carried by hand.

Style – Medium sized tote bag.
Weight - When all the mobile tools you need are crammed inside, the bag can be heavy, but that’s your and my fault not the bags. When is someone gonna come up with a super-feather-light-weight lappie! If you’re carrying an iPad and a few other bits and bobs, Ava is a breeze to carry.

Grace

Road Test Score
9.5 [red leather would probably be a 10!]

Overview - a great grab and go bag for trendy businesswomen. Ticks all our boxes for comfort and style. Can carry most mobile tools except a laptop. Very accessible to dump on a counter (when buying train ticket) slide hands in and out to grab sunglasses, keys, iPad, phone and bits and bobs in the side pockets - like a quick flick of lippie.

Colours –  red, pewter, mustard, black, tan, orange, purple.

Mia Tui bags have great pockets to hold all your mobile working tools

teal blue, pink, black leather. Who wants black leather when you have such an exciting range of colours. I originally thought like any serious businesswoman thinks when going to clients, black leather is best for business. But just take a little look at the huge colour range  here http://miatui.com/collections/grace and Grace will surely grace your next client presentation or board meeting. I have mustard but you know the Orange is pulling me too … and the teal blue looks gorgeous as well. Very tempting to get a succumb to an addition of matching bags to business suits or outfits. Uh, hem… moving on …

Cost
– £39.99 (black leather £99.00)

Fabric – PU
Comfort - A fab bag - we have really fallen in love with this bag and there is a din in the office ‘cause everyone wants to road-test this bag. It’s a case of ‘Hands Off, squabble away girls - it’s mine!’

Durability
- As with Ava above, PU is very durable for freelancers or mobile workers constantly on the go. The bag is waterproof inside, which is ideal if you have to stop off at the gym and shove a wet-ish towel inside.

Pockets - Top marks for pockets! All manner of pockets are crammed into the Mia Tui bags. Pen holders, 2 different clips for keys, a mobile phone pocket and wow, how cool is this  - an insulated water bottle holder. How many times have I run my legs off to get a train on time, only to sit puffin’ and pantin’ on the train with no water bottle in my bag - simply because I didn’t have this great bag with this ingenious solution to organisation.

Many a man will take one look inside this lady’s bag and his eyes will boggle at how neat and tidy the infamous bottom of a girl’s handbag will always remain with Ava and Grace! Lest I not forget to mention the little matching colour clutch bags that come with Grace - ideal for a quick dart to the corner shop and just carrying your purse and phone.

Also great to include those items that need safe stowing away from ‘eyeballs’ and thus no falling out in front of clients when you delve inside for a pen. You know what I mean! And lastly the clutch helps make it easy to swap picky little items from bag to bag without a major de-bagging.

Space - Ideal to fit many a remote working tool. Phone is paramount and snug in its pocket. IPad slides in and out with such ease it’s just not true. Either on your shoulder or strapped over the body the iPad can be taken out for a quick email or two. Or it can be slipped onto the lap with a keypad like the Adonit.

For those all day meetings that often lead to business dinners or even darting out to the theatre afterwards, Grace is perfect as she will accommodate your quick change or freshen up cardie.

If you have kids [mine has grown up and flown the nest] you can probably fit in nappies, wipes, toys and even emergency clothes inside.

Ava and Grace ticks all our boxes. Pockets are very accessible to dump on a counter, slide hands in and out to grab sunglasses or a quick flick of lippie.

Straps - Grace has an extension strap that converts it from a traditional handbag to a cross body bag. Very stylish strap with a lovely big buckle. It comes rolled up inside the bag all ready to extend into a cross body bag that oozes with style. For those quick in and out of the shop trips, it rests easily on the counter for a dip inside and of course all the pockets help keep you organised and knowing just where to insert your hand. The same goes for those occasions like grabbing your purse to buy a train ticket or a quick secret smear of lippie as you enter a client’s building. Attention and thought behind the design of these bags is amazing!

Style – messenger cross body satchel or traditional under arm handbag.
Weight - Practical, light as a feather - okay, maybe not with all the mobile tools crammed inside, but the PU and waterproof interior help to reduce the load on the body when stuffed to overflowing when you’re out at that all important client presentation.

Straps - a bit of a fiddle and thus dropped the rating somewhat. If you're okay with hand-holding your briefcase, you've no worries here.

If you're like some of our road testers and prefer to have 'hands-free' you could try some of the ways to carry this briefcase Bright colours is the ideal briefcase for the fun and funky mobile workerin the images shown.

Our road testers weren't really up for this, they felt carrying this lovely looking bag on their backs was not elegant and a bit of a hassle.

One went as far as to say, they can't be 'bovered' and would rather carry it by hand - but that could become heavy and tough on the palms after a long day of meetings in and around London's tubes.

On the other hand, one of our road testers refuses to give back the briefcase, she first said she loved it so much and wouldn't part with it for the world. Then said it got lost ... mmm, yea, right!

Weight - the briefcase itself is not heavy but if you're carrying a chunky lappie it may be a tough sell to carry it around, unless you're happy to do a quick back strap. An all time slimline bag, good for slipping into small thin spaces such as overhead on a train or plane and easy to slide in and out from behind a car seat or tucked between other stuff in a packed boot.
