I launched hiviz-marketing in March 2005 to provide marketing services to, mainly, US start up business entering the EMEA market in the virtualisation enterprise software sector. Whilst not being able to afford someone of my calibre, they need my knowledge and contacts to help accelerate their business. Employing me as a marketing contractor means they have access to services on an 'as needed' basis, paying only for what they need. My ethos for my business is 3-fold; to work with innovative, exciting technology that will make a business difference, work with people I like and respect and not to have conflicting technologies. These 3 criteria have served me well over the last 10 years. I do not solicit business, my projects come via word of mouth and recommendation. I am very proud of what I have built in the past 10 years, mainly because I continue to learn and be challenged, whilst maintaining a work/life balance many can only dream of!
I am very involved in the VMware User Group (VMUG) being a volunteer leader for the London chapter and being on the steering committee for the National UK UserCon held annually. For this, I have been awarded the President's Award for outstanding services to the community, as well as our chapter being awarded the Extra Mile Award for providing services to our community above and beyond.
